Megan Mullally Husband & Kids: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know – Heavy.com

Actress and comedian Megan Mullally will take the stage tonight as host of the 2019 Screen Actors Guild Awards airing at 8/7c on TBS and TNT. Best known for her role as Karen Walker in NBC’s Will & Grace, Mullally earned seven consecutive SAG Award nominations, winning in 2001, 2002, and 2003 for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series.

Mullally is the perfect performer to hold down an awards show. The actress has ventured into stage work, music, and writing, so clearly she’s a comedic goddess who’s bound to light up the SAG stage.

Here’s everything you need to know about Mullally, her husband, and whether or not the couple has kids.

1. Mullally is Married to Fellow Actor and Comedian Nick Offerman

Nick Offerman is best known for his role as Ron Swanson in NBC’s Parks and Recreation. Their 2003 marriage was the second for Mullally, who was formerly married to Michael Katcher from 1992-1996; it was Offerman’s first. The two met in 2000 while doing a play in Los Angeles called The Berlin Circle.

“After rehearsal one night we went and drove around. I put my hand on hers on the gearshift in the middle and that was very electric,” Offerman told Parade. “She gave me a stern talking to about how yes, there might be ‘some interest’ in me but she wasn’t about to ‘get involved’ with somebody she was doing a play with. So it would have to wait until the play closed. And I said, ‘OK, I can handle those terms’…and then we went and parked somewhere and made out for two hours to a Beck record that had just come out.”

Mullally added: “Opening night, somebody saw us making out and then the cat was out of the bag. And then we were dating…There was a Glen Campbell concert at the Hollywood Bowl that put us in a very lustful mood apparently. We’re both big Glen Campbell fans — it’s one of the things that united us in eternal love.”

2. The Couple Has No Kids

While Mullally and Offerman don’t have children, the couple did try for about a year.

“I never had a burning desire to have children,” Mullally told GQ. “But then I met Nick, and I thought ‘This is the only person I’d do this with.’ So we tried, but I was a little long in the tooth for that sort of thing. But we didn’t turn it into a soap opera. We tried for about a year or so, and it didn’t happen, and took that to mean it wasn’t meant to be.”

3. Mullally and Offerman Enjoy Working Together and Have Appeared on Each Other’s Shows Many Times

In 2001, Offerman guest-starred in an episode of Will & Grace as a character named Nick. Last year, he appeared again as a new character named Jackson Boudreaux, a sexually charged celebrity chef.

Mullally had a recurring role on Offerman’s show, Parks and Recreation, playing Tammy 2, one of Ron Swanson’s ex-wives.

“When Megan came on Parks and Rec as Tammy 2, that was kind of a watershed moment for me where we were treated like peers, like a team,” Offerman told People. “Up until that point I’d felt like Megan’s student and fan. So once that happened, those particular roles required a lot of trust and vulnerability to go to horrifyingly deep places, especially with our tongues. So I feel like we’ve graduated to a level where we can look at each other and jump off any cliff together.”

The duo also starred in an Off-Broadway play, Annapurna, where they played Ulysses (Offerman) and ex-wife Emma (Mullally); Ulysses is preparing for the end of his life and when Emma tracks him down, the former lovers fall quickly back into their old rhythms.

“We said, ‘Well that’s a happy accident–it’s a two-person play and both parts are right for us,’” Mullally said.

4. Mullally and Offerman Wrote A Book Together

Just last year, the couple wrote a book together called The Greatest Love Story Ever Told: An Oral History.

The book’s official description reads: “Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman reveal the full story behind their epic romance—presented in a series of intimate conversations between the couple including photos, anecdotes, and the occasional puzzle.”

“The Greatest Love Story Ever Told” wound up on the New York Times Bestseller list.

5. The Married Couple Has Some Blunt Advice for Newly Married Couples

When asked what advice they have for newly engaged or married couples:

“‘F–k’ seems like it’s key,” said Mullally. “We have a two-week rule. We’re never apart for more two weeks. Just not being separated for Jurassic periods of time seems to help. And no children probably helps a lot.”

How Did Chris Pratt Win Over Arnold Schwarzenegger? – The Cheat Sheet

The crossover relationships among celebrity culture never fail to surprise. A few years ago, nobody would have equated Chris Pratt having any connection to the Schwarzeneggers. A potential of Arnold Schwarzenegger possibly being Pratt’s father-in-law would have seemed even stranger.

All told, nobody predicted Pratt linking up romantically and becoming engaged to Arnold’s daughter, Katherine.

Reports were that Arnold didn’t like the idea at first. Pratt did some things to win over Schwarzenegger, though. It was more than just giving a stale sales pitch on being fully committed to this slightly controversial relationship.

Chris Pratt raised eyebrows after divorcing Anna Faris

After what seemed like a storybook marriage in Hollywood, Pratt and Faris are now a year and a half removed from their August 2017 divorce. With eight years of marriage, it was still considered a good run for a Hollywood couple.

In the realm of PR, though, it’s not always a good career move to start another relationship so suddenly after a divorce. Chris Pratt had to take some criticism from the public when he started dating not long after he split with Faris.

It also doesn’t help in the age of Twitter to announce those relationships to the world. Pratt is very active on Twitter where he recently exclaimed his excitement in Katherine Schwarzenegger saying “yes” to his marriage proposal.

The initial opposition to Pratt’s relationship with Katherine Schwarzenegger

Outside of the 10-year age difference (Pratt is 39 and Katherine is 29), there was plenty of criticism about this new coupling from outsiders. However, if you think Anna Faris was miffed, think again.

Recent reports say Pratt called her first when preparing to propose to Schwarzenegger. Faris was very supportive about all of it, including reminding the press that she can legally officiate weddings.

It’s a good feeling to know there wasn’t any bitterness in the Pratt-Faris divorce. Considering we have to report on dozens of acrimonious Hollywood splits, it says a lot about the character of Pratt and Faris to maintain good relations for the sake of their son, Jack.

Arnold Schwarzenegger wasn’t thrilled about Pratt at first

Once Arnold Schwarzenegger showed some initial concern with the news of Pratt dating his daughter, Pratt knew he had to prove his worth. The disdain from Arnold was Pratt being an actor and knowing what they’re usually like.

Little did Arnold know Chris Pratt isn’t like the typical actor. He has a strong religious foundation and cherishes family values. The first thing that likely impressed Father Schwarzenegger was the sight last summer of Pratt and Katherine going to church together with Pratt’s six-year-old son.

Pratt took some other proactive steps to prove he wasn’t going to end up being a repeat of how Arnold Schwarzenegger fared during his myriad relationships and affairs.

Pratt already knew Maria Shriver

Another advantage likely gaining favor with Arnold was Pratt already knew Maria Shriver, Katherine’s mother. Since Arnold and Maria Shriver still have an amicable relationship, this no doubt made a good impression when the latter quickly welcomed Pratt into the family.

Then Pratt asked the request of marriage directly to Shriver and Arnold. While other actors would likely feel scared to death asking Arnold Schwarzenegger to marry his daughter, Pratt’s politeness and easy acclimation into the family was a major win for both sides.

As you can see from the above tweet from Arnold, he also gave his blessing to the marriage on social media for all to see.

Will this be Hollywood’s dream marriage?

After decades of notorious divorces in Hollywood, we’re maybe looking at a blissful one with Pratt and Schwarzenegger. Will their marriage last? Based on Pratt’s foresight in gaining good relationships with the family and the strong spiritual foundation of each, it has a better chance.

First things first: Tell us about your 2 weddings.

Our Chinese wedding was on September 28, 2018 the tea ceremony in the morning and a reception dinner at Thean Hour temple. Our Spain wedding on October 10, 2018 took place at Palacio de Villa Hermosa in Pedrola, Spain, with a romantic exchanging of vows ceremony, followed by cocktails and dinner at the palace gardens.

When did the planning begin?

The Chinese wedding took 4 months to plan, whereas the Spain wedding started in October 2017.The latter took a year to set in place, especially to give guests sufficient time to plan their trip.

You wore 6 bridal dresses for 2 ceremonies – tell us how you chose them.

For the morning tea ceremony, I wore an ivory-white lace mermaid gown by UK designer Annasul Y. I wanted a dress that was timeless and demure with long sleeves and came across her 20s ultra glam wedding designs. It was made with French Chantilly lace applique on 3 different layers of the gown, that created a dreamy 3D and semi-transparent effect. It fitted like a glove. My 3-meter-long veil was by a Malaysian designer based in Canada, Stesha Ho. For the oriental night, I wore a floor-length Mandarin collared cape by Brian Khoo, layered over my Annasul Y gown for a Chinoiserie effect. The cape was also appliqued with Chantilly lace around the collar, chest and the hem of the sleeves and train. My evening gown was another Chinoiserie custom piece made in China; a mermaid gown in yellow, embroidered with royal peonies, leaves and branches across the bodice to the hem.

For the welcome dinner in Spain, I wore a Marchesa Notte Gown embroidered and finely beaded on tulle. My wedding ceremony dress was from the Pronovias 2019 collection. I spotted the ball gown and its lace embroidery and applique when Aaron and I walked into Pronovias Barcelona’s Flagship store. The lace was delicately sewn on sheath tulle that creating an asymmetrical effect. The skirt was embellished with horsehair braid and the back was a deep V-back feature, with all-over lace applique. It was a gown I had imagined but couldn’t bring to life and there it was on me.

When I stepped out of the fitting room, Aaron took one look and his reaction was priceless; I think his eye teared up a little when he said ‘this is the one.’

For the after party, I wore a custom made grey gown by Brian Khoo. The first layer was a corsetted body suit that made my waist look 18 inches, with a second layer of delicate sheer tulle with lace applique and beadings stitched on, for a peek-a-boo effect up to the mid thigh. Ombre ostrich feathers cascaded the length of the train. It was perfect for my first dance.

How did you prepare for your wedding, fitness and beauty wise?

I went on a no-carb diet for a month and also did intermittent fasting. For exercise I went for Pilates twice a week and did the workout homework from my Pilates instructors.

I applied face masks every alternate day 3 weeks leading up to the wedding. I also went for 3 facials in a span of 2 months 2 weeks prior to the wedding, and I for skincare, I swear by Decorté and Golden Face Mask.

And the big reveal: Tell us the story behind your wedding themes.

For our Chinese wedding, we decided on the oriental theme with red and gold in the most fitting location, Thean Hou Temple. Aaron loves the art of lion dance, so we had a lion on our wedding stage and lions to welcome guests. We decorated tables with custom made origami cut placemats and had piggy mooncakes for table gifts. A Chinese Orchestra provided music with traditional instruments and we sat guests at tables in balcony style during the banquet, to evoke a Chinese theatre setting.

The venue was set up with old china elements with cherry blossoms, birds, birdcages and lanterns, and the stage was transformed into a grand opera setting.

For our second wedding, we chose our favourite destination, Spain. I found my wedding planner Paloma Cruz on Instagram and fell in love with her vintage-with-a-modern-twist style. The historical palace for our wedding is owned by a royal family in Spain, some of whom still lives there today. We decided on pastel hues for colours and contemporary vintage decorations. The wedding took place on the grand walk of the palace, with the place as the backdrop. We sat down to dinner on a long table decorated with garlands filled with flowers and candles, in a tunnel of fairy lights.

We gifted guests with semi-precious stones, an amethysts and a London topaz. As part of the wedding treat, the duke of the palace brought our guests for a tour and history ‘lesson’ around the property. At the end, we had our wedding pictures taken in the beautiful historical library and the grand hall.

The experience began with illustrated wedding invites. Please elaborate on these special touches.

For my oriental theme in Malaysia, the mood was set from the wedding invitation. It was inspired by the Chinese Calendar with the elements of a rabbit zodiac representing Aaron and the dragon zodiac representing myself. The invite was made in red and embossed in gold with lanterns, flowers, and a double happiness Chinese symbol.

As for the Spanish wedding invitation, we used a vintage classic theme to hint at how the venue would look like. They were hand painted by the designer Penny Qi, who incorporated the palace areas where we were doing our wedding: the garden, the grand walk, the grand hall, and painted perfect emblem for Aaron and I, which was embossed amongst the garden painting on the front. The envelope was also printed with the quote “live for moments you can’t put into words”.

What’s your favourite part about the wedding?

I have a few favourites in Spain – The moment when my father walked me down the aisle and I saw all my family and friends, that was very touching. I saw Aaron tearing up as I walked down the aisle and that warm and fuzzy feeling I felt was indescribable.

Another favourite was the wedding shoot in the palace. Aaron and I danced in the grand hall while our photographers, Pablo Laguia and David Rodriguez , were shooting us. From the moment I saw the grand hall I had been picturing Aaron and I dancing there and we were doing it!

As I hugged my family and best friends individually I thanked them for their personal favours throughout the years, and we were all tearing up.

Finally, what’s your advice to future brides?

Be sure of what you want. Decide on a theme you and your other half would love and stick by it. Pick vendors that understand your wants and set a budget so you will be getting suitable design options. Research thoroughly on the vendors’ style before making a decision. A good wedding planner or coordinator is of utmost importance as you will not have time on the big day to meddle in the details. Have everything planned out in an Excel sheet and share it with all the relevant parties so everyone knows their duties. Besides that, remember it is your wedding and aonce-in-a-lifetime experience with the person you love. A friend gave me a wonderful piece of advice, which is to pull your husband aside and take a moment to look at everything in front of you and if you can, go outside for a moment alone. Let all that is happening sink in together: That will be the moment you remember for the rest of your lives. The day will go by so quickly that if you forgot to revel in the moments, it will just fly by.
