How to Know if Spy Apps Are on Phone, Computer: Dating Tips | Personal Space – Bravo

If you haven’t yet caught up with the TV series You, it’s basically a show where Penn Badgley plays an obssessed stalker (in most people’s opinions), or possibly a “romantic” at heart (to some others like Millie Bobby Brown).
No matter what side of the fence you fall on, the reality is that it’s 2019, and there is certainly a dating app for everything. There’s one for dog lovers, one for people who are turned-on by chin scruff, and one for those who can’t stomach gluten.
There are also a lot of crazies out there.
If you don’t happen to have access to your potential love interest’s old phone and access to his or her cloud account (like on the show), well, there’s a new type of app that’s creepier than ever: “Spy apps” aren’t helping people find love, they’re invading people’s privacy, and adding a new layer of “OMG is this really a thing?” when it comes to the dating world.
So what exactly are spy apps?
According to Kim Komando, who dishes the latest news on digital security threats and scams on The Kim Komando Show, spy apps are the latest weapon in relationship dramas.
“This is done through secret keylogging apps let you see your partner’s emails and texts, track them with GPS and, if you pay enough, access their Instagram and Snapchat accounts,” Komando reports.
These keylogging apps have been around for years as a way for parents to monitor their kids online and cellphone usage, and for bosses to monitor their employee’s computer use, but not they are entering the dating world and it’s just creepy.
The worst part about these apps is that you might not even know one is currently running on your phone or computer (cue the paranoia).
“Don’t get paranoid that a spying app is on your phone, but there are signs to look for. Your battery could be draining faster than usual and you might see an increase in your data usage. Look to see what downloaded apps have been on your phone. Check your account at the Apple App Store or Google Play,” says Komando.
So are these things legal? Yes, but not in the dating space.
“According to Harvard Law’s website, although keyloggers facilitate a major invasion of privacy, they are legal in many jurisdictions.
On an individual level, many parents utilize this software as a way to protect their children when they are online, which again is legal.” There’s nowhere in this report, or elsewhere, that says it’s legal to use with someone you’re dating, or married to, especially if they haven’t given you permission to spy on them.
If you want to make sure that none of these spy apps are capturing your every move, every time you pick up your phone or turn on your computer, below is a list of ways, according to the website, Celltrackingapps.com, to help you get rid of them as soon as possible:
Check out the list of installed applications in Settings
- All apps you don’t remember to install should be deleted immediately
- Install one of the most valuable anti-virus programs and scan your phone’s system and memory
- Delete every strange app or file anti-virus will offer you
- Don’t miss any updates of your anti-virus

Lisa Armstrong reveals amazing new beauty gig following Britain's Got Talent axe – Yahoo Style
Star makeup artist Lisa Armstrong has revealed that she’s bagged a very exciting new beauty job – working as an ambassador for Avon! She looked happy as a clam in her most recent Instagram post, and how can we blame her – since she was surrounded with gorgeous new lipsticks from what’s thought to be a new range she’s collaborated on. She captioned her snap: “Fab day with one of my fave brands @Avon_UK talking all about perfect nude lipsticks. #ComingSoon #NudeIsMyStyle.”
Lisa looked to be rocking one of the nudes from the range – a gorgeous creamy pink. Need. Plenty of her fans were just as excited, with one writing: “Can’t wait as I absolutely love nude lipsticks. I try other shades but always go back to nude,” and another adding, “Ooh great I would use Avon make up more if I knew you were involved.” We have to agree.

The beauty expert is the long-time head makeup artist at Strictly Come Dancing, and until recently worked on Britain’s Got Talent with loyal client Stephen Mulhern. It was revealed in December that Lisa wouldn’t be returning to the talent show, thought to be a decision based on Ant McPartlin’s return. Sadly, she confirmed that it hadn’t been her choice, after one follower tweeted: “I really hope it was your decision to move on to better projects,” to which she replied: “Nope x.”

No doubt her new venture with Avon will be just as fulfilling – and Lisa has a brand new TV show coming out, too. The makeover show, called The Updaters, is being produced by Jet TV and will most likely launch in 2019. In one clip shared on Twitter, Lisa is shown joking around with her client, and even giving dating advice. We can’t wait to see what else this year has in store for you, Lisa!
The queen of the online clapback imparts wisdom to her elders – Roll Call

You may have noticed that freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is Very Online — which isn’t uncommon behavior for us millennials.
At 29, the Bronx freshman is on the younger end of the cohort, which ranges from ages 23 to 38. (For a handy distinction, think of Old Millennials as internet savvy people who had to log into Facebook from their dorm rooms. Young Millennials have always tweeted from their smartphones.)
She’s also an effective political communicator, especially when using modern platforms such as Twitter and Instagram. That’s why the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee invited her to lead a social media seminar on Thursday for her Capitol Hill colleagues who want to become better posters.
And like a millennial working yet another unpaid job at Christmas by setting up her grandparents’ iPads, Ocasio-Cortez obliged.
The purpose of the seminar was to teach lawmakers how to be more authentic and reach constituents in creative ways. But can they replicate AOC’s success by studying her helpful pointers?
I’m skeptical. Like dating advice columnists, some political pundits tell politicians to just “be themselves” and what voters truly crave is “authenticity.” But what if your authentic self is a truly, deeply boring person? No amount of lessons on proper hashtag usage can change that.
Ocasio-Cortez is fluent in online slang and has an intuition for virality … like a millennial who has spent a lot of time online, where people tend to be more brash. It’s no coincidence that many of the critics who come for Ocasio-Cortez end up getting washed in the spin cycle.
To the consternation of her fellow Democrats (and some journalists), she doesn’t have the same respect for institutional authority as her elders. This could be because millennials as a group have a deep distrust of institutions, characteristic of a generation who came of age during the Clinton impeachment, 9/11 and the war-on-terror surveillance state, and the Great Recession.
Please forgive the following NFL metaphor but I watch a LOT of football. At the end of this year’s regular season, eight head coaches were fired. Meanwhile, the youngest coach in the league, 32-year-old Sean McVay, led the Los Angeles Rams from one of the worst records in the NFL to back-to-back playoff appearances.
He is heralded as a boy genius and a wunderkind. So what did these teams looking to fill their coaching vacancies do? They hired anyone under age 40 who once had a beer with McVay and coached offense.
By all accounts McVay’s success is not duplicable. He has an exceptional ability to communicate his expectations to his players. He has an obsessive eye for detail. He is a creative play-caller with an unbelievable memory — all traits that can’t easily be found by hiring someone who kinda sorta knows him.
Many lawmakers are in danger of repeating the mistake of NFL team owners. Mimicking the social media patterns of a lawmaker whose online skills are almost native may lead to some clumsy outcomes.
Guys, I’m still holding my breath. Are you gonna RT Cardi B or not?

Joe Alwyn Discussed His Relationship With Taylor Swift & Clarified This One Misconception – Bustle

As many know, Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn like to keep their relationship private. But, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they keep things on the more extreme side of privacy or anything, according to the Mary, Queen of Scots actor. According to E! News, Alwyn opened up about his relationship with Swift, and he’s clearing up a common misconception about their love story.
In an interview with Mr. Porter’s The Journal, published recently, Alwyn opened up about everything from his movie career to his personal life. Of course, that includes Swift. Without naming his girlfriend directly, the Favourite actor has something interesting to say when asked about the seemingly very private nature of their relationship in comparison to other public celebrity relationships. He told the publication:
“I don’t think more than anyone else. I don’t think anyone you meet on the streets would just spill their guts out to you, therefore why should I? And then that is defined as being ‘strangely private’. Fine. But I don’t think it is. I think it’s normal.”
He makes a good point. While Alwyn and Swift tend to keep their relationship under wraps, that doesn’t mean that it’s overly so. If they want to keep their private life exactly that — private — then that is completely their, very natural and normal, prerogative.

Alwyn and Swift have been a bit more public when it comes to their relationship recently though, such as during the 2019 Golden Globes, in which they were spotted attending many after-parties together, per E! News. But, those recent outings don’t necessarily mean that you’ll be seeing too many PDA moments between the two in the future. After all, the actor has opened up in the past about his desire to keep his romantic relationship with the singer to himself.
In an interview with Esquire, published in December 2018, Alwyn was asked about his dating life with Swift and whether he seeks out any advice on his romance. He said,
“I didn’t seek out advice on that. Because I know what I feel about it. I think there’s a very clear line as to what somebody should share, or feel like they have to share, and what they don’t want to and shouldn’t have to.”
The actor also commented on the relationship in an interview with British Vogue in September 2018, which marked the first time he acknowledged his high-profile relationship. “I’m aware people want to know about that side of things,” he told the publication, “I think we have been successfully very private, and that has now sunk in for people.”

Just based on the pair’s social media behavior, it’s clear that they don’t want to put any kind of major, public focus on their romance. Other than one Instagram post from the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer about her boyfriend’s movie, The Favourite, in November, the two have shied away from featuring each other on their social media accounts. And, of course, the couple, who has reportedly been dating since 2016, have rarely been photographed out together in public, save for a few occasions.
As Alwyn has said on multiple occasions, he and Swift tend to keep their relationship private, which is completely understandable. But, make no mistake, as the actor also noted recently, their desire for privacy isn’t exactly out of the norm.
