Chrissy Teigen is sharing how she makes it work with husband John Legend.

“I think it’s really important to be complete partners in crime,” she said in an interview with Well+Good published Wednesday. “I love the mentality of ‘us against the world.’ Even when you have kids, never forget your relationship as partners and lovers—that’s so important.”

The couple has been married since 2013 and are parents to daughter Luna, 23 months. They are expecting a baby boy this spring.

Teigen, 32, who has been candid about her struggles with infertility and postpartum depression, noted the importance of communication despite whatever craziness kids bring along.

“Even when we have Luna going insane, it’s important to be able to look at each other and be like, ‘We created this thing and we’re going to solve it together,’” she explained. “Sometimes I don’t want to make John feel good and I’m sure he has the same with me, but it’s my keen advice to do it anyway.”

Legend, 39, has opened up about being in a relationship with Teigen as well, also accepting their imperfections.

“I don’t want to present myself as the ‘perfect spouse’ and I don’t want to present our relationship as the ‘perfect relationship’ because I don’t think anybody meets that definition,” he told Cosmo in August.  “I think it’s too much pressure to put on anyone.”

Legend, who just wrapped up a tour in Asia, is starring in a live staging of “Jesus Christ Superstar” on Easter Sunday. Earlier this week, he posted a sweet snapshot of him holding Luna on set.
